Episode 104. Express Tip #52: The Feeling of Growth
Annette Walter

In this community, we always talk about how to grow and scale your business. That’s what we love to do. If you’re not familiar with what we do, we take businesses and companies and we scale them. If a business needs to transition, either within the family or generationally, or needs to exit and sell, we coach them through the different processes and strategies. This time, I want to bring you a special tip on what to do when you feel your business is breaking into its next level of growth.
Let’s talk about why sometimes you get emotionally triggered and agitated when your team feels like they’re messing up, or not doing it the “right way”. That’s called growth.
Every time your business grows, a system breaks
The systems that get you to one point will not take you to a higher point in your business. Growth sometimes feels like frustration and anger. Don’t take it in a negative way, accept it and realize that is part of growing into that new level you’ve been wanting to go.
Instead, think that it’s a good thing that your people are not fully getting it, that this is a way your business, your team, and your processes are giving you feedback. It’s a way of telling me that if things are not working, it’s time to take a deep dive, analyze them and improve them. It’s time to change them and make them better.
I hope this helps, if you’re feeling down about your business or questioning something in it, try and look at it with a different lens and perspective. Take it from me, when things are growing and scaling, you need new or enhanced processes and systems. Every time your business grows, a system breaks.
Always remember: improve and evolve, continue to show up, and keep swinging the bat. Progress and growth feel like everything’s breaking down but take it as your business giving you feedback.
