Episode 108. Express Tip #54: Focusing on Your Inner Compass

Annette Walter

July 28, 2021

When you listen to the soft whispers of your soul, that inner desire will show you where you need to go, it’ll guide you to all the answers you’ve been searching for. So how do you focus on your inner compass?

This blog is coming to you halfway through the year. Right now we are in July, dead center of summer. If you’ve started to think about late August, September, fall schedules and holidays, winter, winter break, Christmas break, whew! I want you to stop, spend some quiet time, find a journal, find the opportunity to do a pulse check, and reflect on what this year has been. What this year has looked like for you so far, and what your inner compass is telling you, and where it’s pointing you to go. Listen to your inner desires and listen to what your heart wants.

You may be heavier into your family, your kids, and summer schedules so maybe you feel a little distant from your work right now. Or maybe you are in the thick and deep of your work and that’s what’s consuming you. Whatever it is that is making you feel overwhelmed or like a chicken with no head, reverse engineer it right now. One of the best ways is to write it down. Pour your heart out even if it doesn’t make sense at first, and write what’s bothering you, what things or situations would you like to improve. And then write what would you like to accomplish before the year is over. It’s so important to listen to your inner compass and what’s it saying about your wants and needs for the rest of the year, and make changes accordingly.

Don’t feel like there’s not enough time, it’s okay…you’re not stuck, you haven’t lost time. The common theme this past week with our entrepreneur groups was “I feel like I should be much further than I am, but I’m grateful for everything I’ve been through” and “I thought I was gonna be further at this point and I’m not, but I’m grateful for what I’ve gone through”. Those concerns are really about health and family, and other heavy things that I know a lot of you are going through, so it’s time to touch base with your inner compass. Give yourself some grace, be kind to yourself, and spend some time figuring out what do you want. I hope you are doing well, I see you, I get you, and I’m here for you entrepreneur.
