Episode 120. Express Tip #60: The Small Tweaks

Annette Walter

September 8, 2021

As an entrepreneur and business owner, you are probably spending a lot of time and energy thinking about the next steps to grow and scale your business. But doing so shouldn’t be complicated, take too much time or be overly expensive.

Sometimes small adjustments or tweaks can bring great results. It’s very important, particularly during seasonal changes, to make sure we are taking a detailed look at the different components of our business. So, what should you do to grow your business?

One thing you can do is get back in the weeds a little bit. I’m not saying to get stuck there, but instead get in there and re-examine certain aspects of your business that might need a little more attention. There are always improvements we can make in our processes and systems that can turn into significant rewards.

If you’ve laid a great foundation with efficient processes in your business, ask yourself, what’s the next step? How can I make this tentacle grow and make it better? What is its potential and importance in my business’s day to day? The next step in the process is to examine how to more effectively automate so it can take tasks off both you and your team’s plate. Ask your team where they think small tweaks can be made to processes or software currently in use that can help create better workflows and further automate everybody’s work!

That’s my advice – I encourage you to go back into the weeds for a little bit, but don’t get stuck there! Something you need to understand as an entrepreneur is that tweaking your business is an ongoing task that never really ends. Find out what works for you and your business, tweak a little, keep an eye on the results, evaluate, and then tweak again.
