Episode 140. Express Tip #71. The Importance of Being Part of a Mastermind

What is a Mastermind Group? Who’s it for? Who can be a member of the group? Why are they important? Keep reading because we’re going to answer all of these questions to help you decide.

Initially, the traditional name for these groups was Advisory Peer Roundtables. Now, they’re called Masterminds. I have been a part of a Mastermind Group since 2009 and I would have never ever gotten to this point in my life and businesses without the help and guidance from them.

So what is a Mastermind or peer advisory group? They are a small group of like-minded entrepreneurs, in non-competing industries. I have been in some groups where there are businesses of the same industry or same sector, however, they’re in different geographic locations. Overall, they are non-competing companies. They are there to hold you accountable, to challenge and hold you to the mat, provide a safe place for you to show up, be vulnerable, vent and process your issues.

Mastermind meetings are held and processed regularly on a monthly basis. Currently, I host two Masterminds here at iEvolve Consulting, they are bi-weekly, because it keeps the momentum and the accountability of the business owners at a better, faster pace.

When you are in a Mastermind group, you show up to be you, unfiltered. First, you check-in, then process a leadership topic that is relevant in that timeframe or a topic that is delivered by the facilitator. Second, you do a clarifying segment of the round table (this is where you can uncover any issues that need to be processed) to develop them with the group. This way you get clarity so you can go and make better decisions. Finally, it’s followed by a check-out of each member. Just remember that each group can be a little different.

I’ve been in some Mastermind Groups where it’s just hot seats, where you show up and if you have anything pressing that day, you can raise your hand, throw your issue out to the group and go through it. Other Masterminds are educational or informative. Some are run by peers and a facilitator just guides the conversation. So whatever you’re looking for, I’m sure it’s out there.

I’ve also coached facilitators who run different masterminds. So if you need some perspective, accountability, support, and guidance from a leader and like-minded entrepreneurs, being in a Mastermind group is the right place for you. There should be good chemistry between you and the facilitator, and between you and the group so that you feel comfortable showing up, being open and honest. Being a part of one will help you gain momentum to continuously grow and scale your business.

I encourage you to check out the two groups that I facilitate at iEvolve Consulting. I am also hosting an Info Session on December 7 in case you want to learn more about what the options are. You can register here for that Info Session. The first is our Business Builder Mastermind, a group for newer businesses that are starting to climb that mountain. It’s a business growth coaching group that will help you build, maintain momentum, consistency, and be accountable.  You will make progress in your business, feel surrounded and supported by other business owners who are at the same stage in their business. The second one is our Entrepreneur Evolution Empowerment Group, for the established businesses that have set revenues, set teams, and are making those monumental climbs continuing up the mountain. Whenever you get to a new level of growth in your business, you face a new issue or problem (New level, New devil), and at every level, you need someone to help and guide you through it.

Check out the information of each Mastermind and see if being a part of one, will be worth your time. If it’s your right fit, it will lift you, it will elevate your business and you will gain so much out of it. If I hadn’t lived it, breathed it, and didn’t continue to invest in it since 2009, I would not be sharing this with you.

So I’m a lover and a believer in it. I’m grateful for the groups that we have here at iEvolve Consulting and I encourage you to visit the groups or book a session with me to ask any other questions that you may have, let’s talk more about your business, the groups, and how I can help you!

I’m here for you and I’m so glad that you are here today for yourself as well.

Keep evolving, entrepreneur! I see you, I get you, and I’m so proud of you.

We are currently enrolling for our mastermind groups!

I want to invite you to join our Mastermind Groups personally. I have two groups that run every other week with 90-minute sessions. They are compelling, and I would love for you to join us.

We also have our Business Builder Group for our newer, smaller revenue-size companies, male and female business owners. If you would like to know more, please reach out at yourock@ievolveconsulting.com. See you there!

Don’t do this journey alone. It is crucial to surround yourself with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

I’m grateful for this community and our most powerful platform, The Entrepreneur Evolution Empowerment Group. A group of rockstars entrepreneurs that are on the way to five million and 10 million dollars in revenue. We have accountability bi-weekly meetings where we go through topics of leadership, development, and tons of resources. These entrepreneurs are leaders and still growing, and I’m very proud of them.
