Episode 146. Express Tip #73. The Dots throughout your entrepreneurial journey

Annette Walter

December 7, 2021

I have to say around the holidays, I get emotional. But it’s a good and interesting thing because it makes me see how the dots in my life have connected to bring me where I am today.

Have you ever looked back and connected the dots in your life?

Connecting the dots means that when you look back into your life, you realize and can see that certain experiences had to happen to bring you the blessings that you have today.

This confirms that you should follow your true interests even if you think that they will bring you no other benefit than satisfying your curiosity. Because down the road, you never know how those experiences could end up being extremely valuable to you, in ways you never imagined, at just the right time in your life.

As you are on the journey of building your life, your company, wealth, and legacy, you’ll encounter many life situations, good and not so good. You may be going through a situation right now thinking ‘why is this happening to me?’ My question for you on a deeper level would be, “what if you see those sequences of connected events as learning experiences… what if that situation becomes an important stepping stone to get you where you want to be?” You may not know the purpose at this moment, but after some time, you’re able to connect those experiences and events and they will all make sense.

Try not to overanalyze it or make too much sense of it at the moment. Trust the process, and most importantly, trust yourself and your ability to make it through. Oftentimes when I’m going through something I remind myself of that – I believe this has a purpose and ask myself, “what am I supposed to learn from this?” It doesn’t make sense right now, but I know that when I look back, there is a reason for the season.

Do you agree? Have you ever had that realization of…that situation was hard at the moment, but I had to go through it to be where I am today?
