When you show up for yourself, you show up better for others – for your team, your spouse, your children, and your community. Prioritizing YOU, investing in your well-being and knowledge is easier said than done, but the truth is you can’t fully show up for the people in your life until you know how to do the same for yourself.
Showing up for yourself is the ultimate form of self-care and self-love. It’s about making your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs a priority.
After the holidays are over, January is a time when all your routines are out of whack, so it’s easy to be overwhelmed with high emotion and anxiety over certain situations. This is your sign to stop overextending yourself at work or with family.
January is also a time where you sort of have to ask yourself, “what do I want to be, have, and do during this new year in all aspects of my life?”
Do you know the answer to those questions?
If you don’t, do not worry, you’re not alone. Everyone is feeling overwhelmed right now. So first, simply acknowledge where you are at the moment with zero judgment. It’s important to accept yourself and your surroundings, especially if you don’t know how to begin. Give yourself full permission to be exactly who and where you are.
Now, I want you to take a moment to be intentional, take a deep breath, and simply reset your mind. To help you with that, I want you to think and analyze these 5 things as you move forward throughout the year.
These are the 5 things that you need to show up wholeheartedly and fully for yourself.
1. Heartset
This is your purpose and your why. The reasons you get up in the morning. What is that thing that gives you a sense of purpose along with a sense of control and a feeling of ease like what you do is worth it. Why are you doing what you’re doing – is it filling your heart with happiness?
2. Healthset
How is your body feeling right now? Making your body feel good, feeding your body and your mind with things you love is key. Give your body enough rest and sleep, meditate and calm your mind often. It’ll do wonders!
Being physically active, there is no need to do hours and hours of exercise. Try starting with five minutes a day, stretching, or walking while listening to a Podcast – The Entrepreneur Evolution Podcast for example!
3. Mindset
Your ability to crush the negative talk in your head – swiping all the clutter to the side to have strong mental accountability for yourself and others. Try to unplug from technology and let your mind rest and recharge. It’ll help you be present with your business and family.
Schedule time for you, even if it is to do nothing. You don’t need to be hustling all day long to be successful. Block that time and make it happen, write in your journal, listen to music, eat your favorite food, go out to nature and spend that time with you.
4. Soulset
Your true belief in asking the universe/higher power for guidance. No matter what your beliefs are, that relationship is also one that you should take care of and nurture. That faith will help you keep going after your goals.
5. Wealthset
You don’t want to forget about your relationship with money. Heal your relationship with money, this goes hand in hand with your mindset and believing you deserve whatever you’re dreaming for you and your family. Don’t forget to check your numbers for the first weeks of the year. Right now I’m doing a deep dive into false negative beliefs that I have around money.
Don’t be scared to look at your numbers regularly, I know a lot of you depend on the seasonality of your business. They can be down now but make sure that it is just a seasonal thing.
Know your budget and follow it and set values-based goals with it.
We are in January right now, it is a cloud for the first two weeks after the Holidays.
