Episode 198. Express tip #99: Growing Where You are Already Strong

Hi there, entrepreneurs and business owners! As you know, I love helping you navigate the ins and outs of your entrepreneurial journey and grow and scale your business. I want to see YOU grow and reach your next level so that you can be the business owner you dream of being. 

We’ve discussed in the past how Every time your business grows, a system breaks and that sometimes can lead to frustration. Getting to the point of feeling like you’re messing up or not doing it the “right way” usually means you are ready to take the next step.  

That’s when things get tricky because if you focus on your weaknesses or things that aren’t the highest and best use of your time, it’s going to take you longer and it will be more challenging and less fulfilling to reach your ultimate goals. It’s at this point where I need you to change your mindset and focus on your strengths because you grow the most where you are already strong.

 

Do you have a Fixed or Growth Mindset?

People with a growth mindset believe their already strong skills can be developed and that success comes from consistent personal evolution. The crucial aspect is to maintain the desire for constant learning. Here are four tips that’ll help you improve your beliefs and mindset: 

• Embrace challenges: Believe that every bit of experience counts, taking the positive aspects of every obstacle you encounter as an opportunity to learn something.
• Believe in your ability to evolve: You can always increase your skill set. 
• Be inspired and motivated by others’ success: If they can do it, so can you. 
• Accept criticism: Constructive criticism enables you to keep a humble attitude toward any situation. 

Remember, you grow the most where you are already strong, so all you need are small adjustments to get back on track. You have already built your dream business and put together your dream team to take it to its next level. Yes, maybe you have encountered some obstacles along the way, but you are strong and you already have everything you need. 

I want you to continue to be a curious and highly creative business owner and continue to grow for your business, your team, and your clients. A growth mindset is all you need. Focusing on where you are strong will make you grow even more! I encourage you to keep it simple and not overcomplicate this concept. Focus on where you are strong, cultivate a growth mindset and you will shine!
